New Wyoming-based firm targets sophisticated investors seeking non-correlated, actuarially driven returns through fixed-term funds.

Sheridan, Wyoming – July 5, 2026 – Northstar Legacy Capital LLC today announced its formation as a specialized investment firm focused on acquiring and managing portfolios of U.S. life settlement policies. The company will offer institutional life settlement funds designed to deliver returns that are structurally independent of traditional equity and fixed-income markets.
Life settlements represent a mature and growing alternative asset class, providing investors with exposure to contractual cash flows driven by human longevity rather than market cycles. Northstar Legacy Capital will focus exclusively on high-quality policies issued by A.M. Best A- or better rated carriers, applying rigorous underwriting and portfolio construction standards.
“Our approach combines disciplined policy selection, operational efficiency through strategic partnerships, and a clearly defined investment term with a structured exit mechanism,” said Gilles A. Trahan, Managing Partner of Northstar Legacy Capital. “We believe this structure offers family offices and institutional investors a compelling way to access an asset class with low correlation to traditional markets.”
Each fund will operate on a 10-year closed-end basis, with policies that remain outstanding in later years transitioned into the secondary and tertiary markets to provide liquidity and help protect investor timelines.
Northstar Legacy Capital is supported by an experienced team and established industry partners with deep expertise across policy origination, actuarial analysis, premium servicing, and claims management.
